Nothing here takes a payment. It is a written request that reaches Ōno Sōhachi and the office in Furukawa, and we answer every one, usually within the week. A revival of a small nōka begins around ¥18,000,000; a full gasshō relocation runs into the hundreds of millions. We will say plainly if a budget will not carry the work.

Raised new on the old methods, dismantled and moved, or revived where it stands. All three are the same craft — only the first hundred years differ.
If a field does not apply, leave it. A short brief with a real site on it is worth more than a long one without.
From the bench
Small work, sold outright. Most of it comes off houses we are already working on — the susutake is pulled from a roof the week it is stripped.
Prices are ex-workshop, before carriage. Everything is cut or made to order except the susutake, which is graded from stock.
